It is February and we all know what that entails; Valentine’s Day is upon us. It is the day for lovers to celebrate their love and do cheesy couple stuff, like romantic dinners and fancy gifts.

Nina in a Valentines Outfit with a Jane Kønig Lovetag-necklace

When it comes to Valentine’s day, I personally have the feeling, that there are two kinds of people out there – the lovers and the haters. And while the lovers indulge in typical Valentine’s Day activities and let hearts fly around, the haters criticize the whole shabang as yet another holiday to make money and find commercial ways to celebrate romantic love. After all Valentine’s day was invented by the greeting card and florist lobby, those greedy, business savvy people, right? Well not entirely, Wikipedia begs to differ.

But no matter if you’re one of the lovers or one of the haters, a single lady or part of a “love team” (this tacky expression almost made me spit out my coke, while I’m typing this. Good laugh here), I think that we can all agree on one thing: Love is important. It can build us up, it can hurt us immensely, it comes in many different forms. It is the Alpha and Omega of our lives.

I have plenty of love in my life and I am infinitely grateful for that. My wonderful family and great friends keep the stream of love flowing my way and I truly believe that this is making me a better person.

Therefor it deserves to be celebrated as often and as abundantly as possible.

I personally like Valentine’s Day, since I was lucky enough to always be lucky on February 14; I often had great things happen to me on that very day (although I am rather the kind of person, that tends to not enjoy holidays too much and I am most definitely not superstitious).

And in order to make it a sweet one for you this year as well, we’re very happy to have the opportunity to collaborate with Jane Kønig.  You can win their beautiful necklace from the love tag collection. It is a great accessory  for any “date outfit” if you’re in a relationship or an equally great gift to yourself, if you’re single. After all, it is true that self-love is the most important kind of love. One can’t give what one does not have.

The Giveaway

Jane Kønig’s necklace comes in four different variations; rhodium plated silver, sterling silver, gold-plated silver and rose gold silver. You get to choose the material and also what you’d like on your two tags. I decided on the rose gold with an L for Lana and a little heart in the spirit of Valentine’s day. I absolutely love how it makes my (hopefully not corny) Valentine’s themed outfit perfect.

Now without further ado, here’s how you can take part in the giveaway competition:

  1. Follow us on Instagram
  2. Tell us about your favorite piece of jewelry in the comments section below. What makes it special? Who is it from? Is there a special story to go with it?
  3. As usual, don’t forget to leave an Email, so we can get in touch with you.
  4. The winner will be announced next Thursday on Instagram and Snapchat.

We’re looking forward to your entries and good luck, may the Valentine’s Day kitsch gods be with you!

XOXO

She didn’t get an engagement ring from my grandfather before they married many years ago, but at her 50th birthday she got that necklace after he had given her the ring as a late engagement ring. It means the world to me and i am so happy that i get to show her that by wearing it while i still have her in my life.

My most beloved piece of jewellery has to be the necklace I got from my boyfriend for our 1 year anniversary. We have been doing long distance for the past 1,5 years, travelling between Denmark and Belgium. I consider myself very lucky to have found such a wonderful man and hope that everyone can enjoy Valentine’s Day with someone they love ❤️

  12. Meine Kette von Svarowski, die mir mein Ex-Freund zum Geburtstag geschenkt hat 🙂

  13. My favorite piece is a bracelette. I fell in love with it even though it was a way to expensive Design piece- but WHO can resist french things..? I bought it for myself and I felt so special going into that store, trying it on and leaving with the cute bag. I think I smiled all the way home. When I have a bad day I put it on and feel strong and confident because it reminds me that I am doing good in life even if it is not as I Imagined it when I was younger.

  14. My favorite piece of jewelry is a charm bracelet that I inherited from my great-grandmother. She bought a silver charm everywhere she travelled to hang on the bracelet!

  15. My favorite jewelery is a bracelet I got from my ex boyfriend. He lives in Australia, I live in Germany – that’s why we seperated. The bracelet got little stones with our names in it and also two “diamonds” in the color of my eyes. I don’t know how to describe it in a better way. He gave it to me so “although we can’t be together in real life, we can be together in there”. So it’s not only my favorite piece of jewelery, it’s also the best gift I ever received 🙂

  16. My favourite jewellery piece is an old necklace my mum gave to me (or rather I pretty much just grabbed it) because I fell in love with it after hearing the story behind it and the meaning of the pendant which is an ancient egypt scarab… she got it on her travel adeventures when she was as young as I am right now, back then travelling was way more adventurous and risky than nowadays and the stories she told me are just insane.. she got the scarab at a little market in Egypt and always took it with her as a lucky charm and now I do the same and I think it works out pretty will 🙂 For a change I could still use a lovely Jane Konig necklace, i just love the simplicity and timeless design of it!
    cheers, lea
